Alpha Smart drives the South London Community Law Network’s day‑to‑day operations with strategic clarity, operational discipline and deep community focus. As founder and director of Salone Community Law Hub, he has built trusted partnerships with community hubs, faith organisations and advice agencies, creating accessible, culturally‑rooted pathways for residents facing the greatest barriers to legal support.
Alongside his leadership responsibilities, Alpha plays an active role in casework, providing hands‑on support to residents navigating complex legal challenges. His direct involvement in cases strengthens SLCLN’s early intervention model, ensuring that vulnerable clients receive timely, practical and high‑quality assistance.
He oversees SLCLN’s triage, early intervention and referral programmes, while leading the Community Lawyers and supervising interns and volunteers. Under his guidance, SLCLN has developed a rigorous, practice‑based learning environment that equips emerging practitioners with the skills, confidence and community awareness needed to serve South London’s diverse population.
Holding a BA (Hons) in Business Studies with Economics and an MA in Law from the University of Law, Alpha blends professional legal training with community‑rooted leadership, advancing SLCLN’s vision for a fairer, more responsive and more accessible South London.

Kimberley Donaldson serves as a Director of the South London Community Law Network and Chief Executive of the Secretariat, providing the organisational leadership that underpins Salone Community Law Hub’s work. She leads SLCLN’s governance, operational systems and creative direction, ensuring the Network — and the Salone Community Law Hub — operate with clarity, accountability and long‑term stability.
Kimberley oversees the internal structures that support community lawyers across the Network, including workflow design, governance processes, training pathways and digital identity. She supervises interns and early‑career practitioners, shaping a disciplined and supportive learning environment for those entering community‑based legal practice.
She also directs SLCLN’s public‑facing identity, producing the visual, digital and written materials that communicate the Network’s values and strengthen its presence across South London. Alongside her leadership responsibilities, Kimberley contributes directly to Salone Community Law Hub’s community casework, offering early‑stage support, drafting assistance and coordinated interventions for residents facing complex legal barriers.
Her commitment to precision, accessibility and community‑rooted justice ensures that Salone Community Law Hub — and the wider Network — remain organised, responsive and grounded in the lived realities of the people they serve.
