 “When I first began my internship, I was nervous about entering a professional legal environment in a foreign country, as I was unsure of what to expect. As an American student working alongside legal professionals and advocates in South London, I worried about adapting to unfamiliar systems and learning how to operate effectively in a new setting. I loved working for those in need, as legal help should be provided and affordable to everyone. Most importantly the experience introduced me to a variety of cultures ideas and communities which broadened my perspective and helped me better understand the people around me. I am forever blessed and grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to take home the experience I have obtained.”  

“I have worked on helping individuals claim asylum for the UK, fill out government forms and documents, and draft letters for pressing charges. I have learned so much about the differences between common and civil law and how the UK will still match some EU regulations even after Brexit. The most valuable skill learned from this internship however is how to work with clients face-to-face to understand their situation and work on solutions together.”  

“Hi! I'm Alexis, and I had the opportunity to intern for six weeks this summer. Through my internship, I was able to learn how the UK legal system works and provide legal advice. I was also able to increase my cultural competence by interacting with people from a variety of backgrounds. Not only did I improve my legal understanding, but I also improved my professionalism.
